Hi, I’m Kevin Dutkiewicz.
I provide practical IT, cybersecurity,
& insurance guidance to small businesses without an IT department.
If insurance questions around cybersecurity feel complex, security requirements feel confusing, and “do we need a server?” decisions feel overwhelming, you’re not behind. You need a clear plan from a professional who knows how to ask the right questions and to implement the right answers for your specific needs.
Built for teams under 20. No high-pressure tactics.
No unnecessary enterprise-level complexities.
Supporting service-based companies across a broad range of industries.
My Unique Value Proposition is to focus on meeting your needs without breaking the bank.
Based in Stow, serving Northeast Ohio with remote support available for national clients.
Most small businesses aren’t ignoring IT…they just don’t know what they don’t know.
Ready to see where your IT systems stand?
The IT Gap Check is an audit that shows you where you are in your infrastructure journey by asking questions about your current policies, procedures, and goals.
This self-guided assessment helps you see how to bridge the gap to where you need to be, firing on all cylinders as a business, safely, securely, and within compliance & insurance requirements.
Following your audit, you’ll get:
An expert review with clear priorities and no guesswork
I personally work to identify what matters most to your business. I provide customized guidance based on your company’s size and specific needs.
Sound security + compliance guidance in easy-to-understand terms
Cybersecurity insurance direction, basic through advanced IT support, with policy-driven requirements explained in a straightforward, experience-backed way that builds trust & buy-in from decision-makers.
An ongoing partnership with a small business that cares
I commit to my clients long-term. I’m not just a “fix it when it breaks” type of contractor. When we work together, I become a trusted partner to your business, helping keep your systems clean, protected, and predictable.
Does this sound familiar?
You don’t know what insurance is actually asking you to do or why it’s important.
You’re unsure what “secure email” really means for your business and if you truly need it for your company size.
You’ve heard you need a server/backups/Microsoft… but you’re not sure why or how everything works together.
You want to do the right thing without overspending in an area that feels “unfamiliar”.
You need a partner you can trust to lead you in the right direction.

FAQs
-
All businesses need to protect themselves and their customers from cyber attacks. It doesnt matter how big or small you are: every business is a target, the only difference is small businesses won't be on the news.
-
Let's start with a quick discussion on how your business operates and how IT integrates with that. Book some time here!

Just like your business, insurance companies are always looking for ways to save money, and they can do that by increasing the cyber security baseline for themselves and their clients (you!). The questions are their way of assessing their risk of having you as a customer. The more best practices you follow, the safer you are and less risk for them.
-
Its always best to look at the requirements for what you're trying to operate. Some applications mandate a server, others are cloud based. There are lots of traditional server roles that have shifted to cloud services meaning you might not need a physical server.
-
A server in-house is a great way to host business resources locally without having to worry about internet availability. Sometimes there are compliance or regulatory reasons to keep a server in-house, and others where software platforms require it. Just like cloud based resources, there are still requirements and costs to keeping a server in-house, and it should be discussed which direction to go.
-
Multi-Factor Authentication is an additional layer of making sure you are you. A password is considered a single factor authentication, and if that password is stolen, anyone can pretend to be you. Multi-factor is usually seen as an always changing string of numbers that only you have access to, so even if your password is stolen, the malicious actor can't complete the login. MFA is a great way to increase your security baseline, and it's becoming mandatory in many applications and services.
-
Backups are simply point in time copies of your data. They can be used for simple requests of old data, or a part of your disaster recovery plan. Disaster recovery includes much more than just your backups; it includes business decisions on how to handle downtime of any length and what the business defines as priorities on getting back to normal operations.

Email bounces happen for many reasons, most of which are improper or missing configurations. Not setting up your email properly and securely can cause your outward facing emails to bounce, causing communication problems with your customers and potentially costing you time and money!
-
There are multiple tools and services to help make sure your email is setup correctly ranging from free to recurring fees. It is always best to have the discussion of what your requirements, budget, and risk tolerance are with your IT provider.
“If you’re not sure where you stand, start with the IT Gap Check, and I’ll help you confidently prioritize your next steps.”
